Is it possible to capture HD 1080P 25fps on a decklink card with a Mac Pro connected thru Fibre Channel to a X-raid with X-san?

I just want to know if this is a smart way of working with HD 4:4:4. Today we have 2 PowerMac G5 that we want to connect thru X-san to a X-raid. To this setup we are in the market for a HD capture station. My idea is to get a MacPro with a Decklink card and connect it to the X-san thru Fibre Channel. So when i capture all the videofiles goes strait to the X-raid so the other computers can wok with the video right away.

    Is the setup fast enough?

    Will it work nice?

a single Apple XServe RAID is not fast enough to do dual link 4:4:4. Even without XSan.

What are the bitrate/MBytes per second for HD 4:4:4?

    It’s about 198 Mb/sec for 1080i50 and about 237 Mb/sec for at 1080i59.94.

Yes, it is. We’re getting 4:4:4 out of our 2.2 TB xServe with no problems… you have to enable some cache settings and run RAID 0, but we’re getting the throughput no problem.
