HD 1080P footage Output to DV 720×480 16×9
Posted by Jeffrey Lonigro on January 8, 2009 at 10:36 pmThe house standard is to output DV 720×480 Anamorphic (16×9) 29.97. I have footage coming in that was shot 1920x1080P 24P. How should I set my time line?

January 8, 2009 at 10:51 pmSet the timeline to match the video coming in. Edit. And than down convert to your standard def sequence.

January 8, 2009 at 11:20 pmYou need a Kona card to downconvert on the fly, or you can export a QT movie and downconvert in Compressor.

January 8, 2009 at 11:51 pmThere is a Blackmagic card installed. I need to know after I cut the piece with sequence settings matching the footage what needs to be done to lay back to DV tape so it’s 720×480 DV 16:9 anamorphic

January 9, 2009 at 1:53 amI’m not sure about the Blackmagic card, I use Kona. Could you create a DV 16:9 timeline and paste your edits into it, render and then lay off to tape? I do this with DV25 and IMX timelines that I need to take into Color.

January 9, 2009 at 2:22 pmSame here, I have Kona. I can set the various outputs, either analog or SDI, to either the primary editing format or a secondary, down-converted format. The down-convert has choice of letterbox, crop, or anamorphic. Very slick and good quality.
Final Cut Pro 6.0.5, Mac OS-X 10.5.5, Quicktime 7.5.5, Adobe Prod Prem CS4, G5 Quad 2.5, Kona-LHe V6, 8.5GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce 7800-GT 256MB, G-RAID 2x1TB FW800, 6TB RAID-5 (Enhance E8-ML, Highpoint 2322), Panasonic HVX-200P P2. Also MBP 17″ Core 2 Duo 2.5, 4GB, GeForce 8600M GT 512MB.
