Having Trouble Please help
Hi guys im having trouble recording vocals my first question is how do i prevent my vocals from coming out of the sub level is there a certain frequency they need to be on or what? My second question is this i’m a little strap for cash so i dont have a interface i was wondering do i need a to run my mic through an interface because right now its running straight to the computer and for some reason i have to record with the volume real low because the sound bleeds over into the track im recoding on. THANKS IN ADVANCE TO ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME

OK, I need to know a couple of things …
Do you have a soundcard or are you using onboard sound
Have you checked your windows mixer to see where the volume is set
What kind of mic are you using and which port is it plugged into
If you are not using headphones or your volume in the headphones is too
high you will get a bleed, this is where a compressor limitor can
really help
You can pick up a mixer like the eurorack ub120 4fx by berringer for
less than 70 bucks, it’s not the greatest but it is better than
nothing
As long as you are doing a track at a time you are fine like you are until you can afford some outboard gear you just need to tweak it a bit ……… WILLIE -
i’m using the onboard sound card i think its sigmatel and i have it olugged in the mic port

Did you check volumes on the window mixer? Are you using headphones?
