  • Having to render a simple dissolve… and every single transition.

Posted by Bert Delgado on December 27, 2010 at 8:18 pm

I do not remember having to render a simple dissolve in Final Cut Pro 7.

Something must have had been changed. I now that I had some questions about audio and the Apple technician NOT the Final Cut Pro tech support, told me to do a reboot while pressing four different keys.

God knows what that did… but I do not know.

    My setting are:
Apple ProRes 422 at the Sequence and the same at capturing.

I am using a Panasonic AVCHD camera and although I try to set the Log and Capture to AVCHD, it seems to refuse to take it.

Is this all related? I am rendering almost everything I do as far as transitions go.

    Thanks for info

Typically that behavior means that your sequence settings do not properly match your media. Try opening a new sequence and let FCP change the settings to match the media when you drop the first clip on the timeline.

Drag a clip in a empty timeline. Then it asks to Match your media. Say Yes.
    Still the same?

    [Bert Delgado] “My setting are:

Simply change your Easy Setup to match your Sequence Settings.

It will convert everything to ProRes. That’s the editing codec you want to use.

Just double check the actual format of your media when captured.
