May 18, 2014 at 2:28 pmI sometimes have the need to remove extraneous parts of a video, and want to avoid a “jump” in the image between the end of one part I’m keeping and the start of a second part. In those cases, I fade the video down so it goes to black, leave a gap, and then fade the video back up again. I fill the gap with black generated media.

May 18, 2014 at 3:58 pm[Morgan Lewis] ” the commentary track ‘cannot’ be moved from where it’s synced with the video, otherwise the video game audio in the video, and the video game audio in the commentary track won’t match, so in this case if I overlap videos I ‘have’ to overlap audio where I’m talking.”
It sounds like you are making transitions in the middle of a video just for the sake of making a transition which is not the normal way that people use them. You’ll have to get creative. Maybe make them on a track above the video using a copy of the media so that the original video continues to flow.
