having a time using mp-4 audio

i have 5 dvd’s of audio library in mp-4 format

January 6, 2008 at 6:55 amThe issue is that FCP does not like compressed audio like mp4’s or mp3’s.
That is why you need to convert them to AIFF’s

January 6, 2008 at 7:21 pmTry burning to a CD using iTunes, it changes the formats to mp3’s I’m pretty sure. I would use a CD-RW so you ran reuse it. Its worked for me.

No by default iTunes will make a audio CD.
Even so FCP does not likes MP3’s ether, so doing that will do you no good, my previous post clearly stated that. Both MP3’s and MP4’s are compressed audio formats, and FCP does NOT like compressed audio.
You will need co convert the file into a AIFF or a WAV file, nether of those files types are as compressed.
