    I have Prem Pro, but never liked it as much as 6.5. The A/B style timeline is my way of editing. I’ve lost my old Premiere 6.5 upgrade disc and I’ll be in trouble if I have to reinstall. Does anyone have one they’d part with? I’ll pay you for it.

    Once you get used to the single layer cross fade format you’ll wonder what the hell we were doing with the A/B roll. It keeps things so much cleaner. You can shift the crossfade forward and backward and make it longer by dragging its edges out. Use the shortcut key’s to create the cross fade at the cuts (Ctrl+D).
    The short cut for audio fades is (Ctrl+Shift+D).

    How many editors does it take to change a light bulb?

    A/B editing is like an addiction. It was hard to break some folks but we tried hard. With counseling, instruction and love, most folks were saved. Like WW1 veterans, there are not many of you. Take the first step;

    I appreciate the humor…even at my expense. Single track editing has always felt counter-intuitive. With A/B there’s less chance of guesswork. The clips are pre-trimmed and (to my way of thinking) predictable. I’m an old dog and my comfort zone with new “easier” ways of doing things, gets smaller all the time.

    Haven’t one of you guys got an old 6.5 update disc you could toss my way? I’ll give you $20 plus postage.

    Somebody?
