Have video track only appear in specific part of frame
First post, and I’m trying to get help understanding how to do this in Premiere, whereas I know what it’s called in Vegas (track motion) and I’m having a load of trouble trying to search for it on Google if I don’t know exactly how to describe it.
What I’m attempting to do is to resize a video track within a specific spot in the entire video. What I mean is that I have a grey rectangle, and within that grey rectangle, anything that’s on a track in the timeline will only appear in the grey rectangle, and nowhere else (the rectangle is part of a picture I made in Photoshop for the purposes of making the video that’s 1920×1080, the size of the complete frame). What I’m having the issue is that no matter what I try to do to get the results I want (tried to crop and resize the text), whenever I use a 3D transition effects, I end up seeing the text fly throughout the entire video frame to where I have it positioned instead of just in this small area (not sure if I’m explaining it well here, either).
What I’d love to do is to have it so that it can work the same way as in Vegas, where all transitions are contained in one specific space in the video and behave as if I shrunk the entire project frame. At the very least, I would like to have it so if the video track’s contents spill over a specific position in the frame, then the overspill would just not appear until it was within the area I designate.
Sorry if it sounded confusing as to what I’m attempting to do. Not sure if it’s even something Premiere can do, but I about to do this in Vegas rather easily, but it’s very frustrating when I can’t even start to think of what Adobe could’ve possibly called this in Premiere and nothing I type in to guess it gets Google to understand what it is I’m trying to do.

Sequence nesting should work. Create a sequence of just what you want inside the grey rectangle, complete with the transitions. Then bring that sequence into your main timeline and set the scale/position such that it appropriately fits in your rectangle.
