This has potential to be a stupid question but I am use to only an Adrenaline so I’m not sure how to do the same thing on a Meridian. I am using a DigiBeta Deck running SDI. Im use to just going into the Adrenaline Box and hitting the DNA switch. How do you digitize SDI into a Meridian? Is there a box like the Adrenaline? Also, will Multi-cam work the same way as in the newer systems?

I just wanted to make sure so I don’t look like an idiot. Thanks in advanced.

Multicam will work the same way. To digitize SDI, open the digitize tool and select your source from there.

    To ad to Jon’s answer…
yes their is a breakout box similar to the adrenalines.
You can digitize SDI video BUT you have to use AES audio, the meridians don’t suport SDI embeded
    audio.

Thanks so much for the help. It makes me a lot more comfortable that digitizes video seems the same but they told me they want analog audio from a mixer to go into the system and I was just unsure how that is routed.

Sorry I only was taught the digital ways.

enjoy the stability of a real “Avid”, man.
You’ll select SDI on your video input settings in your digitize tool.
    multicam works exactly the same.
You won’t have firewire capabilities… thats your only drawback, if that exists. You will have all the stability ya like and you will be able to push buttons much faster as it’s actually “an avid”, not a shelf-purcahsed PC trying to keep up with some off the shelf software.
    you will dig it.
