  Hello Guys,

  Some folks may know me here from many years ago. I started out with FCP 1.0. I remember many discussions with Ralph Fairweather while he was still at Apple (jeeze, they could use someone like that, now!).I certainly found a lot of stuff to complain about then (for instance, Apple’s horrible DV codec).

  When I opened up FCPX and looked around a bit, I had the same kind of poor reaction I see here and all over the webz: this thing doesn’t do what I want it to do!

  I was :(.

  Last night I began to truly look into the app in systematic way and I have to say that there may be something there that a cursory look doesn’t reveal to you. Something special and good.

  I still see stuff that I don’t agree with. For instance, I don’t want to see every piece of media all the time but there is a possibility my first reaction was dead wrong.

  I will report back further but something bright and new from people who have done magical things with editing deserves a second look and I am willing to do that.
