I remember when i could open a picture (that was on my timeline in Vegas)in Photoshop. I could add a filter or modify the picture in some way. I could then save the picture and it would update in Vegas instantly.
Now,it seems, in version 8 Pro, Photoshop won’t allow a save. It says the file is left open so i have to save to a different filename and bring a new picture to the timeline. This is really hurting my workflow not to mention the extra pictures i’m building up.
I’m sure it’s worked that way before. Anybody else observed this problem?

Indeed, i’m aware of it too…i wouldn’t say its a problem though.
I Remember i could do that with vegas 6 but not with recent versions.

The good thing is you can have as many versions of vegas installed
and using on the same machine….LOL.

    Steve,
I know it was working in v7. Since i bought into version 8 and since i cant use anything i do on 8 in version 7 i’m working full time in V8 pro now. It’s really slowing me down. I wish they would put that back in or reveal the switch that restores that functionality like so many other things that can be switched on ad off in Vegas.

    James, see this link:

If you’ve changed that option, Vegas will no longer “close” the file when it loses focus meaning the other app can’t save. If you reset it back to the default setting, the media WILL close but it will take longer when you return to Vegas and it will work as you remember.

Thanks Ed and Steve for your responses. This should put me back on track. This forum is an invaluable tool.
