I did a session using DVrack software by serious magic. the clips generated were quicktimes. the clips import ok into Final Cut but don’t look that good. they look washed out. I am having trouble with timecode however. DV rack generated the timecode for the clips and the tape deck. the timecode does not match. is there a setting in FCP so that the imported Timecode is read by FCP? If you have used DVrack before what are your thoughts on this product?

[dan’s droppings] “DV rack generated the timecode for the clips and the tape deck. the timecode does not match.”
Check the Auxiliary Timecode settings for the clips (Modify>Timecode).
When I imported DV clips captured in Premiere 6.5 into FCP (v2/3), I couldn’t see the clip timecode, but it was visible in an Aux t/c track.
