I have a Sony Betacam UVW1800 and I need to ingest Betacam tapes to a PC for archival and maybe future editing purposes. I also have a BM Intensity Pro card in one of my systems. I’ve read many posts on different hardware and I’d like to get the best bang for the buck….what hardware could I use to get the best quality? If I used my Intensity Pro…what would I be sacrificing (if anything)?

Buy my Digisuite LE card (with input/output/XLR cables) and Speed Razor 4.0 setup.

Heck, I could sell you the NT box it’s mounted in too.

Interesting option. Is this the setup without the breakout box? It looks like the only thing missing is a RS422 connection. I believe I may need this if I wrote back to Betacam, correct? Will this work in Win7 64bit?

It has an RS422 plug to sync up to a deck or camera. Also time code, and all the bells and whistles, but it’s made to play in an NT box. The newer versions of Speed Razor and Matrox drivers, will work on a win2000 machine, but not on anything newer.

It’s was always productive, and never had any problems with crashes. The card and software were setup by the dealer, and I never touched anything, but the keyboard.

I actually like it better than Vegas 10, but you are limited in the types of media you can spit the finished videos out on.
