    Hello everyone,

I had a question sent to Magix support recently. It was straight forward.

”…You have made available the minimum specs requirements
in order to run Vegas Pro. What would also be really nice to know is what are the
maximum values that Vegas can work with. What is the maximum qty of RAM Vegas
will make use of. Maximum amount of threads, bus speed, etc..

Before I go and get a machine with 10,000 Gb of RAM, a processor with 5000 cores
and can handle 8000 threads, etc… (only slightly exaggerating here…), it would be nice to know
    …”

    Hello Francois,

    Thank you for your message.

Unfortunately we are not able to provide anything beyond the minimum system requirements needed to run the software, as we have a company policy of not providing specific hardware recommendations on. As long as your system meets the minimum requirements the software should be supported. If you are looking for further hardware advice, we recommend taking a look at the forums on https://www.creativecow.net to see what other film editors work with and found have worked best for them depending on their specific workflow with the software.

You can also download a trial of the software first, before purchasing to ensure there are no issues with performance on your system.

    Best regards,
    Kimberly N.

So here I am asking you, the one’s in the know.

I don’t mind spending the extra coin as long as I can spend more time creatively editing and not spending humongous amounts of time searching the other forums who end up contradicting one another.

    Cheers !

You’ll need to come with more information – nobody knows your workflow and if you’re thinking about editing UHD or 4K, or you’re continuing with your Canon XF305?

    Hi Ole

Good point. No 4K or UHD in the near futur. My XF-305s are more than adequate for what I do.

I guess my main question was to know what was the maximum hardware power Vegas Pro can make use of before anything above that would be superfluous and a waist of money.

It’s not that for me money is no object but I don’t mind spending the extra coin in order to get a workstation that will give me flawless previews, more than decent render time, etc… especially when your timelines are effect heavy.

    Hope I was clearer.

Cheers, and Thx for your time !
