    Hi!

We need to upgrade to HD and were planning to get a Multibridge Extreme. Since we need to do frequent downconversions from 1080i PAL material to Pal and I read about the issues with the software downconversion on the Decklink cards, we are a bit unsure of which way to go. (We have a Decklink Extreme at present)

The Kona LH also supports hardware downconversion and I wonder how this compares to Blackmagic hardware downconversion on the Decklink cards and multibridge.

Can anyone shed light on this? Or do we have to get a Aja standalone downconverter in order to have high-quality downconverts?

How long does downconversion take in After Effects?

    Kind regards

    Georg

[Georg Misch] “The Kona LH also supports hardware downconversio”

Actually, the Kona 2 does, but the LH does not.

The Decklink HD Pro supports hardware downconversion.

actually both of my konas (kona 2 and LH) do 10-bit hardware downconvert on the fly. very high quality too.

you might be confusing the kona 2’s ability to do on the fly 10-bit upconvert which the kona LH does not have????
