    Hi All,
Its that point again where I need to reinstall my OS. Since I am going through the efforts I figure I would ask a couple questions to find out if there is a better way to configure my system. Right now I have my editing system setup with a Raptor 10K rpm drive for my OS and a 2 drive raid 0 for editing. I am thinking about changing over to a 4 drive raid 5 however I would need to lose the raptor and run both the system and editing from the same raid 5 configureation. I guess my goal in doing this is to gain redundency and the extra performance for both the OS and editing. Let me know what you think.

    Is this a good idea?

Will i see any performance gains?

If I am both running the OS and editing off the same raid are there any problems I can expect for editing in Premiere Pro and AE?

I would never suggest trying to run the OS and programs and projects and captured material and exports all off of the same drive. I run separate drives for almost everything. You are looking for trouble. Use the 10K drive for applications and your RAID0 for captured material. Add another drive for projects and media cache and you will be in good shape.
