hard drive unplugged, craziness ensues…
hey,
had a classic problem the other day. hard drive, unplugged while working.
result was total render failure.
Re-rendered all
BUT problems persist. some files seem damaged. often will lock up the render unless I locate and completely reload the troublesome ones into the capture scratch.
sometimes the render FAILS as well. not sure why….
seems to be working better on my desktop than on my laptop. doesn’t seem to be a memory problem, not sure what is wrong still.have resorted to nuking all old render files and rendering everything again…..
I know this is a BIG mess but does anyone have advice for me?
things to look out for?
a way to avoid rebuilding the ENTIRE project ( hour long, three camera shoot) from scratch????please help if possible.

I would try trashing your preferences. That has worked for me in the past when I was on the road and encountered the same problem with a laptop. Good Luck

I would transfer all your material to another drive, erase / reformat the drive you unplugged by accident, then transfer all the material back.
Best to completely clean that drive up before you lose the entire project.
