Hi, we have experienced some instances of fires occurring (or smoking) in the FW 800 port of various drives connected to workstations (Pro Tools workstations). Has anyone else had this happen? And if so, what did you determine was the problem?

Keep a fire extinguisher handy and post your issue in the audio professionals forum or better yet, despite it not being a SAN related issue, post it in the SAN forum because Bob Zelin is all over that forum and knows a lot about hard drives and how to put fires out…

I think smoking in the FW 800 port should be banned.
