Quick question that hopefully someone can help me with. I recently purchased a LaCie Two Big 1Tb E-SATA and although it works great transfering data as soon as I try and play video off it, either in FCP or even just quicktime, it stalls. I have tried LaCie and they didn’t have an answer for me. I guess some one would also be using the same hard disk and I was just wondering if I was alone with this problem or not!!

How is this drive formatted? If it isn’t formatted MacOS Extended then it will have issues with playback.

Defiinitely a setup issue – like Shane says, check the formatting on the drive.

Also check your SATA interface and drivers, and run a disk speed check on it – AJA have an excellent one for free on their website.
