    I know you can do a normal kind of stroke in After Effects, but does anyone have any ideas how to create a stroke that doesn’t strictly conform to the object? For example, I’m trying to create a cut-out kind of stroke effects. Click the link below for a sample:

    I certainly don’t want to do it frame-by-frame, so some kind of automated way would be great. I’m just not sure it’s possible.

    Try a roughen edges with a very large scale.

    Just Copy and Paste a roughened mask shape from Illustrator…..Make sure you prefs for File Handling and Clipboard in Illustrator are set to AICB …..
