Handles for PPro to AE using dynamic link?
Hi
I’m using dynamic link to send clips inside a timelilne (already trimmed) to AE for various processing, for example Warp Stabilization. I find I cannot perform good dissolves or extend the lengths once this is done, because I assume the clip sent is exactly the trim point, with no extra media before or after for the dissolves or anything else.
Is there some type of ‘handle’ concept in dynamic link which allows me to send more than I need to AE for doing these types of things?

Yup, that’s one of the givens when using dynamic link that I bumped into. When I used to use Auto Duck to send clips from FCP to AE I would add a little to the head and extend the duration of the clip within my AE sequence. When I exported as a QT movie I then would have handles to work with. Im not sure how to implement this need for handles at the head with the concept of dynamic links.

I guess one way is to do it manually, just don’t final trim before sending, maybe put in markers where the actual trim points will be, but this is a pain. Anybody know a more automatic way of doing this with Premiere Pro and AE?

I don’t think that would work well since you would have a very sloppy timeline that could make timing difficult and might put clients off if they wanted to see the cut before you finesse the effects.
