  • Handles and Transitions HELP

I posted a problem yesterday and got some helpful advice which was great. But I’m having further problems and it’s doing my head in!!! I’m a newbie to FCP, I edited a sequence and sent it to Color for ajustment, sent it back to FCP and was unable to add any transitions. I then was told about ‘handles’ or lack of them in my case. I found info about ‘ripple’, so i took -15 off left clip and +15 on right clip and hey presto i could drag down a cross dissolve BUT it would only work once. I tried exactly the same between any other 2 clips on the timeline and I get ‘clip collision on A1’ message or ‘media limit on V1’. What am I doing wrong? Also I can’t link the Video with the audio tracks. As i read I could edit back 15 frames and Edit forward 15 frames, close the gap and add a transition as there would now be the frames to do it. The Audio track seems uneditable, I can move them but can’t shorten them! Is it because the Video sequence has come back from Color?
    Please help

When you logged footage.. you may have logged it too tight and simply have no handle left.

Press F to matchframe the clip and look at what you have
