  • Hand poses with Morph Tags and User Data

    Hi all,

I’ve a question about making my job easier when trying to pose hands in my rig.
My rig consists of a character with 4 fingers and a thumb. A have individual controls for each finger and I’ve tied it’s rotations to a set of User Data in the wrist control.

After that I’ve tried using pose morphs tied to each fingers’ rotations so I can use a slider and make fists, relaxed poses, pointing, thumbs up, etc. All of these most common use hand gestures.

But I don’t know if that’s the best way of doing this because since everything’s tied up with User Data I sort of lost the ability to make individual changes because one thing parents to the other.

So if I drag my slider to 100% on a “fist” pose, I can’t move any of my fingers after that, they just snap back to place. I think because the user data overrides all controls.

Any tips on how to make a system like this which has gesture controls but at the same time enables individual tweaking?

    Thanks,
