Hand Drawn Effect?
I have a countdown project for my after effects class. The project consists of an arm where tattoos appear and disappear in a sequence I have made a countdown animatic for it using a linear wipe effect for the appearance of it being drawn on to the arm. However it realy doesn’t look all that good. What I want to know is there an effect I can use for the final that would make it look more realistic. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

One way to go is to animate them on using the Write-On effect. You’d probably have to trace over the tattoos using the pen tool and then write-them-on. Don’t forget to use appropriate transfer modes so they keep the texture of the skin.
