The following suggestion apples to Vegas Pro.
Look for the back-up of your project file.
It will be in the same folder that your project file is.
The difference is that it will have a .bak extension.
For example, the main one is called malcom.veg and the back-up is called malcom.veg.bak
Copy the back-up file to a different folder and rename it by dropping the .bak portion.
    Now open it.
You many need to re-direct it to the proper folder locations to locate the media but this is a quick process.
With any luck, all your project will come back.
Assuming it does, immediately save it under a new name before you do anything else, preferably in more than one location.

It changed the icon of the file to the original of sony vegas logo. The it opened and said

” Warning: An error occurred while loading the project file.
The application does not support this file type.”

and when i clicked on details it says

“File c:/user/(User name)/Documents/(File name).veg could not be opened.”

What should i do?… my brain is about to explode!!!!!

If you’re saying that you got this message after changing the .veg.bak file to a .veg file, than your file has been corrupted for some reason and I can’t think of any other option other than rebuilding the project.
    Sorry 🙁

Did you use two different versions of Vegas (ie 8 and 9) during the making of your video?
