Hi guys, I’m using a technique similar to in this tutorial – https://vimeo.com/102159313 where a hairy cloth object tears apart. With the old cloth system this works perfectly well but with C4D’s new cloth setup the hairs don’t follow the torn cloth after it breaks apart, they just go back to their initial position. Been tweaking every parameter I can find but there doesn’t seem to be any fix? I can’t imagine Maxon would make this impossible? Hoping I’m missing something here but the only fix seems to be switching cloth to the legacy solver. Attached is my scene file with new cloth set-up so you can see what I mean

    Hi Martin,

I could not see the attached file, but I would just like to ask you: Does the hair move with the cloth if you move the model? If the hairs do not move with the model, I think this tutorial will have a solution to your problem, as there is an attached file explaining the method.

    I hope this helps you

Thanks for your comments. Everything moves with the cloth and works perfectly well until the point the cloth tears – at which point the hair snaps back to its initial state. I wondered if it could be a priority issue since that was introduced with the latest cloth engine, but fiddling with that hasn’t helped

    Hello Martin,

You need to change in the guide section the root from polygon vertex to polygon or polygon area or polygon center. Then it works.
