    Hi all,
I am working on a bathroom scene, which needs a toothbrush. I’ve made a rough outline of a toothbrush and I’m trying to get the bristles of it from the hair plugin.

The only problem is when I put the GI settings on, the hair goes black.
I have tried to remedy this by setting it to raytrace in the render setting, but this just makes it mimic the colour of the brush.

In the Material editor for the hair i have recieve GI checked, and I also have the reflectiveness up, but still it will not go white.

Can any shed any light on what I’m missing? Or perhaps another way around it?

    here’s the file:

    Thanks

    Liam

Hmm, setting the hair render options to raytrace should do it. Maybe you have reflectance turned up too high and it’s just reflecting the base.

There is something wrong with the hair material, I tossed the hair and regrew some on the brush then copied the settings from the old hair material to the new material and it renders fine.

Ahh.. Ok, Can’t think what was wrong with it. Oh well. Have to give it another go!
    Thanks guys!
