Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro H.264 with .mov extension

    Yes, but don’t think of it as an H.264 movie with a .mov extension. Rather, think of it as an MOV container that contains video data encoded with the H.264 video codec.

    The reason that I stress this is that I just see a lot of cases in which people think that just changing a file-name extension somehow changes the kind of file that something is.

    In order to do that, select the Quicktime Format, then change the codec to h.264. Note though that this will give you bigger files than if you export using the h.264 FORMAT with the .mp4 file extension.

    There is nothing to say the exported file extension needs to stay as mp4. If all you need us for it to open in QuickTime making the extension .mov diesnt change anything in the quality. But you need to do it manually to each clip. I have done this in the past for clients so all they need to do it open the file and the mov extensions opens it in QuickTime automatically.
