Hey I need some advice about converting h.264 to something final cut can edit, but also has the best quality,Prores tends to do the job but i heard there is some other codec which is better. The team is using a canon eos 7d which apparently delivers files in h.264. What codec should I convert to?

As long as there is not any 8b Unc 420 codec (no that I know) the perfect codec is Apple 8b Unc, if you can bear the data rate.
Prores still being the best option.

Okay thanks, do you know anything about colors and what the optimal option is when you are shooting on the 7d? I’ve heard prores changes the color slightly.

    I heard, I heard..
Stop hearing and try by your self, and if you find a problem look for an answer.
