h.264 to Prores with an already edited timeline?
I edited a file through premiere and would like to CC it in Apple Color, I know Color hates h.264. I have already edited my footage, is there a way I can transcode the footage on my edit into Apple Prores without losing the edit?

1. Make a copy of your H.264 clip in ProRes,
2. Color it and output in ProRes again.
3. In your media bin (aka library panel in Premiere), right click the H.264 file already involved in the edit and select “replace”.
4. Choose your treated ProRes file and it will replace all edits in the timeline of the original file.This works best, of course, when the replacement file is the exact same length as the original file.

Just a note,
If you’re doing multiple files at once, the “replace” command is slow because you have to do each clip separately.
If the file names of the new files match the old ones, using “Make Offline” followed by “Link Media” will allow you to replace all the shots at once.
