  • H.264 Issue in FCP 7, is Problem with FCP,AJA or Standards Converter

We have a project on FCP 7 converted from ProRess to H.264 Pal 14/9 Aspect ratio. Original material is 16/9 but needs to be displayed on 4/3 hance the 14/9 final. The resolution is Pal SD. We have always used ProRess Timelines average bit rate 3.5mb second, we are Testing H.264 on a custom Ress to match the ProRess settings at 2mb a second.

The H.264 clip plays happily in the Play window Display but when we place clip on Timeline to output through AJA and a stand alone Standards Converter PAL to NTSC, vision is static while audio makes a pop crackle every second or so. By passing the S. Converter PAL to PAL no difference.
I have also tried saying Yes and No to the requester that asks when placing clips on Timeline, neither helps.
Checked various play out and sequence settings but nothing stands out.

I have tried to keep it short but include all steps in workflow.
    Any Help welcomed.

    Terry

FCP has never played well with H264 in the timeline. Use the ProRes original to do the standards conversion.
