  h.264 import via FCP X editing in FCP 7

  I tested out FCP X and did a quick import without really checking any settings. Turns out I imported from my Panasonic GH-2 and it is now logged as h.264 files. I would like to edit using FCP 7, but those files jam up FCP 7. I’ve tried using Mpeg Streamclip to convert them to prores 422, but FCP 7 still stutters so bad it’s impossible to edit anything.

  What can I do? How can I convert them so that these files will be editable using FCP 7?

  Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated.
