    Hello,

I am currently writing my bachelor thesis and came upon an interesting point about which im not quite certain and i haven’t found much valuable information either.
The question is whether an intermediate intraframe Codec is still superior to an interframe H264 Codec even though most current hardware have dedicated and implemented H264 decoders.
I know the technical difference between interframe and intraframe and in my experience working with intraframe coded material in the edit has always been easier and faster. However i dont know if this has changed due to better h264 interframe decoders that have popped up and been used in hardware in the last few years.

Would anybody happen to have any experience on this?

    Sincerely

    Florian
