h.264 file .mov extension QT wrapper. Header problems.
Hello. We have a client using Premiere to export h.264 files with a .mov extension. I know in most cases you can just change the extension, but we are dealing with an application that has a DRM component that looks for the QT flag in the header and we can’t figure out how to get the files to export with that flag. Our workaround is to open the file in QT Pro, do a “save as” and that adds the flag in the header. Here is a before and after on an example file from Mediainfo Mac as an example:

Encoding Library…………………………….Apple QuickTimeNotice the encoding library entry in the second output. Though this workaround seems to fix it, the client is a little sensitive to a two step process. Our engineers tell me there is an atom in the header that refers to the clip as an mp4 rather than a QT. Again, I know this is equivalent, but is there a way to export with the QT flag in the header?
