    Hello,

When I compress my video to H264 I find that it distorts and staggers all the fades that I have made. I am using the latest FCP, and (to my knowledge) the latest H264 compression.

    What’s it all about Alfy?

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

this normally happens when the compression is set very high and you have a larger amount of motion data in dissolve and not before and after.

Try setting compression markers to force compressor to check the content 1/2sec before and after the dissolve and try again.

H.264 is just a codec. The quality of it depends on your compression settings. Higher data rate = higher quality video.

If your dissolves are pixellating too much, the raise your data rate.
