    Hi everybody,

    I’m quite impressed about a test I have done and I just want to ask your opinion about that.

    I was trying to compress a 53′ documentary of mine in the best quality and less weight possible and I tried Xmedia Recode.
    I started from a dnxhd intermediate version.
    The film is quite grainy (my choice) and I could see easily how the compression worked looking to the artifacts and the details on the noise grain.

    Well, what I found is that the h264 that I’ve done to 5mbps with Xmediarecode (1,9 Gb) is better that a 16mbps (6gb) h264 version I did before with Adobe Media Encoder.
    Actually with Xmediarecode I could change a lot of parameters to improve the compression but the difference looked crazy to me.

    Everyone else notice this difference and what do you think?
