GUYS, I really need help here. Pls help me…
I have 2 probs. One is i have cut a seq and due to it being 16:9 i need to redigitise it into 4:3. I have a convertor and have converted it to 4:3. But i have use only 10mins of a 2hr clip. How can i redigitise it without having to consolidate or digitise the whole 2 hr clip. Is it possible to dig jus the clips i’ve used to save time???If yes how to do it?
2nd prob is Matching bins. I have found out how to match frame. But when i need to do music cue, i realise i cannot match clips to its bin. SO how can i match to the bin so i can know which music bin/album it came from. Hope u guys know what i mean.

Why not create a letterboxed sequence by dropping the 16×9 clips into a 4×3 sequence?
You do not need to redigitize the clips for 4×3.
Do you require a 4×3 full screen centered cut image?
In FCP you can also create a center cut from the 16x 9 sequence.
I will have to dig out the steps to create a center cut via FCP and repost when I find them.

THanks for ur reply. However, by doing the resizing, its going to cause the resolution to be pixelated. Which is going to be a prob cos its to be broadcast. Thats is y i am using a convertor to change it. It makes a big diff. cos the resolution is really alot better.in fact, really really alot better.
Resolution is very impt as u know. So thats y i have to redig. -

The aspect ratio conversion I have tested using FCP and an external aspect ratio converter results in great image quality from FCP. Yes the external aspect ratio converter was a little better but FCP did yield a useable image for broadcast.
In anycase why are you not outputting the final 16×9 sequence and doing the 4×3 center cut on the fly? You could lay off the anamorphic sequence to tape or do the 4×3 center cut on the fly output via the external aspect ratio converter. This workflow is done daily on hundreds of shows shot in 16×9 anamorphic standard def or high def.
The benefits of this allow you to retain two shows one in 16×9 anamorphic the other in 4×3 centercut or 4×3 letterbox all created from one sequence.

Haha sorry my spelling is really bad. Anyway, its cos the seq has 4×3 footages in it as well. So its troublesome to change. Anyway, for future ref, how do i redig 5min from a 2hr clip. Without digitising the whole 2hr.
