    I remember reading about a Translucent Shader a while back that gave things a great “amber” like quality. Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Perhaps you’re thinking of the Chanlum shader?

    Check the profile of forum moderator, Arndt K., the VReel URL. Plugin may be available in the Dairy Store, but I haven’t checked.
