Activity Forums Adobe Illustrator Guides

    Hello,

This is something I was hoping Adobe would add, but they
haven’t yet. Anyway, I think I know the answer, but
does anyone know if there is a (secret) way to create
multiple sets of guides, like a layer? There are times when
I only need 10 guides displayed out of maybe 40. I know I
can stroke lines and put them on a layer and maybe
that’s the only way to do it, but I’m hoping there
is a way with the guides themselves.

    Thanks,
    Tom

are we talking Illustrator? The only way I know of is to put them on their own layer and turn that layer on or off. Seems very simple. You could also group guides and then hide them in chunks.

Sorry Jeff, this was pertaining to Photoshop, not illustrator.

    Thanks for the reply.

As far as I know, In Photoshop there is no way to do what you are asking.

You can make an action that creates new guides.

    make Step 1 Clear Guides.
Steps 2+ Add new guides based on percentage or position (use menu items)

    Run each action as needed
