GTX 570 properties under OSX 10.7.3
Posted by Knut Jansohn on March 29, 2012 at 8:37 amHi,
I’ve now a 570 (evga hd, 2.5 gb) implemented in my MP 4.1 (newest drivers).
It gives a satisfactory speed under resolve BUT the systemprofiler doesn’t show anything for pci-bus! Instead an errormessage occours 🙁Is that the price for mounting a pc-card under OSX?
I wonder if anyone has mounted a pc-card in MP and has a healthier system?
Do I miss something?Regards
K.

March 29, 2012 at 10:05 amThe error is under the PCI Cards section, not Graphics/Displays. It happens with the Q4000/Mac I think. Nothing to worry about.

March 29, 2012 at 10:32 amThanks guys!
Yes the error occours only in the pci-bus section.
The card is displayed right in the grafics section as gtx 570 🙂Well that reassured me, but a little doubt stays that everything is fine with the pci-bus (extreme 3d+, esata).
Sascha, what do you mean (miss lion)?

That means it will occour with regular Q4000 (mac-version) too?
And seems to be related to the driver? -

March 29, 2012 at 2:36 pmError appears: About this mac / more infos / pci cards
Normaly there are all pci devices listed (including grafic cards), if drivers installed etc etc
With mounting the 570 it says something like ‘an error occours’ and nothing else is listed. But everything seems to run well.
Only the message… -

March 29, 2012 at 7:55 pmThis is due to the self-init function of the drivers.
Using ATY_Init in other oS versions gives same bug.
Not sure why, just how it is. Only EFI inited cards show up properly here.
Most of the self-inited cards are running at PCIE 1.0 Spec of 2.5 GT/s but it is hard to verify due to “Error” in PCI cards section.
Use CUDA-Z and your Single Precision number should be 1100-1300 for a 570 and your device to device pinned will be around 2900. EFI inited cards will show 5600-5900 for device to device pinned.

i thought the GT/s number is listed in the graphic card tab (not PCI card)
i can see that my 470 are listed @ 5GT/s in system proprieties graphic card tab .. (the PCI tab on my system is not working at all because i have the cubix)
