  • Gtech – a good choice?

Posted by Rainer Wirth on December 12, 2012 at 4:41 pm

    Hi folks,

there is a trend with problems with Gtech products. Is it just that more of these products are recently bought or is it that Gtech products are not as reliable as others such as small tree or Sonnet?
    Input welcome.
Please tell us about your experience.

    Rainer,

Are you not familiar with Proavio Storage products? A number of people have commented on our gear, with a 3 year warranty & 1 year advanced replacement & us standing behind our products you can’t go wrong.

We’ve got products validated by Blackmagic Design, Matrox, Bluefish 444 & Adobe.

    We’re all about content creation.

    Ranier –
you are a crazy guy. You just asked is G-Tech a good choice, and in the post below this one, you write this –

“I would recommend a SAN network, server, FC Raid (Small tree, Dulce, Sonnet or Axus) and find a local dealer with professional support. Also I would’t mix Windows and Mac.”

You have listed many brands better than G-Tech, yet you ask the question anyway. Looking to start trouble ? And you can mix Windows and Mac any time you want. There are lots of programs to allow this to happen seamlessly.

No I don’t want to cause trouble. It’s just that there are many posts concerning problems with G-tech products. I’m not a system seller, I’m a professional user like you are. So I just want to make clear that I want some experienced user data to G-tech. Just to share information.
I hope you have my point.

I would say Maxx Digital is a great choice if you want solid gear , great customer service and a company that answers tech calls 7 days a week. But of course I am a little biased .

Oh yeah and Bob Z will yell at you for free.
