    whats a professional way to get rid of the date watermark on video footage, is there a way outside of say a matte, or just plain cropping everything else to fit it

    EIther clone over it in photoshop, or crop it.

    Depending on the content, sometimes a soft edge matte with a very high level of gaussian blur can slip by less noticeably than many other techniques, especially if there are very interesting details that draw the viewers interest elsewhere in the frame.

    hm, thats a good idea, and will save so much more time than frame by frame photoshopinng.
