I just completed the tutorial on growing things in AE and i noticed that the lesson took vector art into Photoshop to edit it down into layers.

Question: Wouldn’t it make more sense to edit this file in Illustrator? If saved as a psd will it still be scalable vector art?

i don’t see any reason you couldn’t work in illustrator… but instead of saving as a psd, i think i would save as an ai file. ae will import a layered ai file as it would a layer psd.

Lots of ways to do this effect. Apologies for the PR BS, but we’ve just done up a great FREEbie for our users. Take a look at the info and video link here – https://www.broadcastGEMs.com

    Everything’s done in AE.

We might just let it go as a tutorial, albeit much later, at the COW.

    Cheers
