I have a group of buildings, which are made up of grouped objects. I would like to animate them so they look like they are growing in scale. Is there a way? I’m sure it’s quite simple so I apologise in advance! Thank you…

No, that’s actually one hell of a complex scenario. If you really want them to “grow” as in stacking bricks, windows, sills etc., you’d have to animate each single element and then combine them together with proper timing. As a simple alternative, you can of course simply scale the entire group that makes up an object, but by the nature of the beast it’s not going to look particularly cool. Much better ways to approach this are:

    a) Cutting your building with an invisible boolena and by animating it let your building “grow”.

    b) Use the Explosion deformer with animated offset of the force field.

    c) use MoGraph and Thinking Particles to assemble your building from separate components.

    a) and b) require you to combine all your groups into single entities by using “Current State to Object” and “Connect” and are probably the easiest to pull off.
