January 20, 2008 at 6:59 pmI was adhering to Steve’s instructions
Steve: If you look at the effects palette (the effects applied to the layer used as the texture for the sphere), here’s what I have, top-to-bottom:
CC sphere
Grow bounds
ShineHe then asked me to duplicate that.

January 21, 2008 at 2:18 amSorry Jordan, but I can’t see the image. It’s really small, and I can’t open it.
Jordan, what’s your e-mail? I can send you my comp.

January 21, 2008 at 2:43 amSorry again, Jordan — I can see it now. However, I can’t see why it isn’t working.
As I wrote, can I send you my comp?

November 3, 2009 at 9:50 amok, i can see this is an old post – but had a similar issue; solution was that i hadnt defined a value for grow bounds (im using RGS grow bounds) – u cant just drag and drop it… you have to define a value for how far the effect will be extended…
It’s all the those pesky details :p

May 11, 2013 at 7:27 pmUpdating this particular thread because it’s where my search landed.
CC Light Rays doesn’t respond to Grow Bounds, and I suspect Shine doesn’t either. The key for me was to put a null effect like a zero-strength Fast Blur in between Grow Bounds and CC Light Rays. The null effect seems to “unlock” the CC Light Rays layer so that it can be affected by Grow Bounds.
