I read a post about changing the length of grouped events. The solution offered doesn’t seem to be working for me. I’m using Vegas Pro 9 and I’m trying to reduce the length of a series of 18 cross faded stills by 6 seconds. After grouping the stills, placing the cursor at the end of the last still, and holding down the control button, I can only change the length of the last still, not the whole group. Did I misunderstand something? Thanks!

    Pete,

I was the one who posted the original question, and the response worked perfectly.

The one thing that caught me was even though I selected events, I had not right-clicked and selected ‘create new group’ whilst the events I wanted were all selected (you can press ‘G’ as well).

You then have to make sure you position you mouse over the *very* end of either the the first or last clip. I would recommend you zoom in on the timeline to be able to do this…

The cursor has to change to the small square with the bi-directional arrow over it – otherwise it will not work..

    I hope this helps.

Pete, if only the last still length is changing, you haven’t grouped all of them together (or missed the last one) so follow Stewart’s suggestions and all should be well 🙂

I accidentally had “Ignore Event Grouping” selected. I’m surprised I missed that. Anyway, it works now. Thanks guys.
