Griffin PowerMate scrubber: How to map for scrubbing
It is speculated that you must set it to simulate the arrow keys or pgup/pgdn to scrub through after effects. But for proper scrubbing in after effects with a Griffin PowerMate you must map scrubbing left to ‘J’ and scrubbing right to ‘K’
It took me a while to find this out as I tried the arrows and page keys as well, but this solution should help get things working for those of you who have this device.Heh heh… Spiny hat…

i’m trying to map the powermate as you say but i have no luck so far,
I’ve followed this tutorial

since I’m using CS6 on lion i had unhidden the library

to avoid messing too much with the shortcuts i just swapped J & K by Cmd+LeftArrow & Cmd+RightArrow respectively.
funny thing is that although it seems to have changed on the shortcut sheet
(i can see it though this script https://aescripts.com/shortcut-key-reference/ )
J & K aren’t working and Cmd+LeftArrow & Cmd+RightArrow seems to do the usual business.
any idea of what i’m doing wrong?
also could you give some detailed steps of how you achieved it?
I did bought the griffin powermate specifically for AE but I had lost the hope to use it there until i saw your post.
