It seems if I load a large object into a scene like an environment sphere (i know, not really necessary in C4D, but just an example), the grid and movement ticks scale up of course. But how can I return them to default or smaller size if I need to work on relatively small objects? I’m from lightwave and in that you have to do the same thing once you load a huge object, but reducing the grid size fixes the automatic adjustments. I’ve gone to the viewport options and reduced the grid size but that seems to only have a visual effect and no influence over say the magnitude of editor view movements etc, how can I change this?

    Thanks,
    Devin

Grid size has nothing to do with the size of editor camera movements, what your looking for is what is the point that the camera is orbiting, and further what is the distance from that point to the camera…

Thanks simon, but I understand that. I don’t just mean camera movements, just the general working scale of everything–including object nudging, or like having the camera or light placeholder “object” in the editor view take up your whole set such that its difficult to see even where it is placed. I’m just wondering how to scale the working environment down altogether, if its possible..
