I have the newest version of final cut, and recently experienced some crazy glitches in my project. Initially, I thought my system had crashed and it was over. When I tried to play my projects they would glitch out and turn red or green, also sound bites made a loud hissing noise when I tried to playback… Not really knowing what to do I media managed the ‘corrupt’ file over to a different hard drive. It now plays fine on the other hard drive, but i’m worried that it will become corrupt and this will keep going on and on… Now my dilema is getting all of my files (i’m working with close to 1 terabyte) transfered over to a different disk. I started media managing about 30 hours ago and it’s still going but doesn’t seem to have an end in site… It’s tempting to cancel and start over but it seems as though it may be working although it feels like it should be faster then 30 hours to transfer a terabyte… anyway any help or ideas as to why this may be happening would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Configurations are as follows. Let me know what other information you might need. Also, i’m mixing a lot of footage together. I have both DV, HDV and widescreen DV. Maybe that is an issue? Also, I media managed all my projects to a different disk and the projects opened fine and played back ok… Unfortunately, after I left my project open for a while and it started “writing video” it started to do the red/blue/hissing noise thing… Thanks.
