I know this has been addressed before but I keep getting green slug and black on my FCP systems. I’m currently running 5 clients on the xsan system and all my software is up to date.(Os10.4.9, QT7.1.5 and FCP 5.1.4) I’m using the Kona 2 and Kona LH cards and have no Black Magic on anything. Deleting my prefs seem to work but the green returns after awhile.
Does anyone know why this is happening? Is it a permissions issue? I have tried removing my pluggins but that did not do a thing. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I think this is a Quicktime issue. On my system with a Kona LH it only reared its ugly head after updating to the latest version of QT.

This happens to me sometimes if I am working in 8 bit or lower and my output (external video) is set to 10 bit.

    Hi John,

Oh yeah the GREEN SLUG. It is a OSX user issue. If you do not trash your FCP preferences and I mean all three that are in the FCP user date folder, the minute you see the GREEN SLUG then you have to create a new user in our OSX. We went through this a few months ago. It was a big headache.

But as soon as I created a new user-copied everything over from the older users folder and then deleted the old user and opened up FCP, Green Slug is gone.

Now every time it happens which has been twice in three months, I immediately close FCP and trash the preference and the Green Slug goes away, but if you keep FCP running too long-you have to delete the user.
    Good Luck.
